Senior Program Aide
We are looking for a program assistant with a background in education, human services and/or psychology, who also has two or more years experience working with children in schools, afterschool programs, and camps. The ideal candidate will have some management experience working with children in an educational setting.

- Assists the Coordinator of Afterschool Services in administering and monitoring all aspects of the site to ensure smooth operation.
- Supervises program in absence of program coordinator
- Assists with the daily set up of the program site.
- Helps plan and organize the daily program. Oversees the implementation of schedules and lesson plans.
- Manages food storage and distribution program.
- Able to fill in at any position within the program at a moments notice.
- Assists with the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of personnel.
- Assists with Program Marketing and PR initiatives.
- Helps maintain records of attendance, sign-in/out sheets, medical forms, emergency sheets, permission slips, accident/incident reports, program evaluations, equipment inventory, and other generated materials as necessary
- Manages the site staff including; daily responsibilities, attendance, scheduling, payroll, personnel records
- Monitors and supervises daily pickups, late arrivals of children, and dismissal period
- Deals directly with parents, school staff, Bus Company, local schools, and other agency department staff as required.
- Inspects and maintains facilities and equipment for safety purposes prior to each activity.
- Responsible for administering basic first aid and submitting accident reports.
- Informs parents of weekly calendar of events and any other vital information.
- Responsible for the safety, accounting and grouping of children at all times.
- Positively enforces Safety and Discipline policy. Responsible for filing and submitting incident reports.
- Expected to attend mandatory staff training and periodic staff meetings and training throughout the year.
- Communicates effectively with staff and Coordinator of Afterschool Services
- Acts in a professional manner at all times.
- Accepts the responsibility to work beyond job description as situations arise.
- Expected to be available for scheduled shifts which include full days on school holidays and summers
- Expected to work beyond regularly scheduled hours in the case of a late start or an early dismissal of school.
- Supervises closing of program and break-down of site.
- Gives input to the Site Supervisor for staff’s full-year review evaluation.
- Handles phones and other office work as directed by Program Coordinator
